Skirt the bank of England in transit to Dublin, where an overnight stay gives the ideal chance to participate in the festivals and cheer of St Patrick’s Day, respecting the patron saint in charge of evangalist work all through Ireland. In Dublin the boulevards wake up with Rio-style jamboree parades, customary céilí moving and vivacious music. At that point cross the Irish Sea to find Liverpool’s terrific waterfront before investigating the city, and voyage back to Ireland to reveal the entrancing legacy of Cobh, Cork or incredible Blarney Castle…… . . .. …

Dublin, Ireland (overnight)

Dublin is the country’s principal port and your visit here coincides with the lively St Patrick’s Day celebrations, when parades and festivals are held to celebrate Irish culture. Arriving this morning and staying until late on day 4 gives you more time to join in the celebrations that spill into Dublin’s lively streets. You can also join a variety of optional excursions including a trip along the River Liffey, a tour of Powerscourt Estate, considered one of the world’s finest with its beautiful gardens, or a visit to the old religious centre of Glendalough.

The seaport city of Liverpool has an impressive waterfront dominated by the ‘Three Graces’: the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building. The city is also famed as the hometown of the Beatles and you may like to go in search of the sites associated with them, such as the Cavern Club, where they made their first live performance. A panoramic tour taking in Liverpool’s iconic attractions is a great way to see the highlights, or you may prefer to seek out the city’s cathedrals on an optional excursion. With an early arrival in port, you’ll also have the chance to venture further afield – giving you the chance to explore Chester and more.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

Cobh (pronounced Cove) is dominated by the Gothic Revival St Colman’s Cathedral and is the gateway to the south-west of Ireland. Rich in history, the port is where thousands embarked on voyages across the Atlantic to escape the famine of the mid-19th century, and the final port of call for the RMS Titanic. From here you can discover traditional towns and picture-perfect scenery, and perhaps journey into the city of Cork, considered by residents to be the true capital of Ireland. Cork is a city of jazz, film, opera and theatre, and it also retains the charm and friendliness of a typical country town. Don’t miss the chance to kiss the famous Blarney Stone for the supposed gift of eloquence and the chance to explore the castle of the same name.
