Day 2 Cannes (overnight)

Enjoy an optional full-day tour of superb sightseeing on the French Riviera, including Nice, the ‘pearl’ of the Côte d’Azur, and a breathtaking drive to Monaco for a walking tour, and its glamorous capital, Monte Carlo. Alternatively, opt for a half-day included tour and head to the hills above Cannes to find a stunning contrast to the Riviera’s glittering coast: travel through glorious Loup River canyon to the medieval village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a place beloved by artists and seekers of the extraordinary.

Day 3 Cannes – cruising the Riviera – Marseille (overnight)

We leave Cannes early this morning and enjoy time cruising through the scenic Riviera before arriving in the beautiful city of Marseille in the evening, where we dock overnight.

Day 4 Marseille (Avignon)

There is a choice of tours today: take an historic tour of Avignon, visiting the well-known bridge, Pont Saint-Bénézet, and the Pope’s Palace where we see 14th century wall paintings and the Great Chapel; or explore Marseille and visit Aix-en-Provence, including a walking tour of the Cours Mirabeau. We sail this evening.

Day 5 Sete (Carcassonne)

Choose to explore two leading Roman cities, by taking an idyllic drive through the Languedoc countryside to the medieval town of Carcassonne to see the breathtaking miles of battlefields, 52 towers and strong standing castle. Continue by coach to Narbonne for a delightful three-course lunch and time exploring the first town to be founded by the Romans themselves during the 2nd century BC. Alternatively, you can travel to 10th century Montpellier and Chateau de Flaugergues.

Day 6 Barcelona, Spain

You have a choice of tours in Barcelona, either take a stroll through one of Barcelona’s oldest areas to see extraordinary artist history – including the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Ring and to the National Art Museum of Catalunya; or explore Barcelona’s Roman origins and visit the unique museum hidden under the medieval buildings of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter.

Day 7 Valencia

We have a half-day excursion to the historic and modern parts of Valencia, including the 14th century church of the Knights Templar, longstanding Serranos and Quart Towers and the city’s new landmark, the City of Arts & Sciences, otherwise recognised as Europe’s biggest cultural-educational complex. Alternatively, you can travel to the Royal Gardens donated to the city in 1903. Alternatively, take a panoramic drive around Valencia that will showcase its outstanding place in the nation’s architectural and cultural history.

Day 8 At sea

We enjoy a leisurely day at sea as we sail towards Malaga.

Day 9 Malaga

There is a choice today: take a trip to Granada, driving through the wonderful landscape of Andalucia – home to endless fields of olive trees and beautiful views – to Alhambra Palace that still stands today with carved stucco walls, honeycomb vaulting, knotted ceilings and outstanding works of art and buildings that have been transformed through the ages. Also visit the Generalife Palace to enjoy its wonderful terraces, flowerbeds, grottoes and beautiful fountains which reflect the Moorish culture. Here, you will also enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant and tour around the city of Granada. Or you can take a panoramic tour of Malaga, before marvelling at the collection within the Picasso Museum.

Day 10 Tangier, Morocco

This morning we take a sightseeing tour of Tangier, visiting the Cape Spartel Lighthouse and the Medina old town. Later, your guide will take you through the Medina, Kasbah and the Mendoubia Park.

Day 11 Cruising the Guadalquivir River – Seville (overnight)

We cruise along the Guadalquivir River to arrive in the heart of Seville this afternoon, and remain here overnight. There will a live Flamenco show on-board in the evening.

Day 12 Seville

Said to be founded 3,000 years ago by Hercules and be the birthplace of Flamenco, this romantic city is a wonderful place to visit. Disembark and enjoy a tour around the astonishing 15th century, Gothic Cathedral of Seville standing on the site of the historic 12th century Almohan Mosque and take a walk through the Old Jewish Quarter of Santa Cruz to explore its Moorish courtyards and narrow streets. After your tour, transfer to your hotel for two nights.

Day 13 Seville

Today, experience a cultural and ancient city in Europe, Cordoba. Stroll through the medieval small streets, alleys, squares, and whitewashed courtyards. The tour will take you to the Great Mosque, known for its extraordinary arches that have 1,000 columns of marble, onyx, jasper and granite created from pieces of the famous Roman temple which previous stood on the site.

Day 14 Seville – London

Food and Dinning on Ship

Dining & bars

We are very fortunate that the areas we sail to have strong culinary traditions, whether in the Mediterranean, Britain or North Atlantic. The gastronomic culture of using the very best fresh local ingredients cooked in a simple but delicious style is the inspiration for the restaurants on board Aegean Odyssey. Both our restaurants offer open-seating dining.

Charleston Lounge

The Marco Polo Restaurant is the most elegant of the ship’s restaurants, open for dinner each evening and for lunch on full days at sea.

Enjoy the casual country-club ambiance and a variety of menus inspired by the fresh local ingredients of the areas we visit. We have an open-seating policy and offer complimentary wine with dinner in all dining areas on board.

With a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, sophisticated interior design and cooking on the open grill, the Terrace Café replicates the charm and ambiance of a seaside restaurant. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner – choose from the grill, hot dishes of the day, a selection of salads and local specialties.

Open in warm weather, you can dine while watching tranquil views of the ocean as your ship sails towards your next destination..
