Day 1 London – Lisbon

VIP Outbound1Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport for a British Airways or another leading airline flight to Lisbon. Meet your Uniworld Representative on arrival and transfer to your hotel for the next two nights.

Day 2 Lisbon

Today’s adventure begins with a guided tour of Belém Tower and a monument dedicated to Portugal’s greatest explorers. See the spectacular Manueline Jerónimos Monastery, sample a pastéis de Belém at a famous pastry shop and see the hills of the Alfama district and Rossio Plaza.

Day 3 Lisbon – Óbidos – Coimbra – Porto

Travel through the beautiful countryside to Porto, stopping en route to see Coimbra, the birthplace of six Portuguese kings. The city is also home to the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest in Europe, and its splendid 18th century library. From there, head to a local restaurant for a traditional Portuguese lunch. Continue to Porto to embark the Queen Isabel (5T).

Day 4 Porto

A panoramic tour of dynamic Porto will show you the city’s top sites. Or, a walking tour features the beautiful tile-adorned train station and what could very well be the world’s most beautiful bookstore. After lunch, visit one of the city’s famed Port cellars.

Day 5 Porto (Guimarães), Entre-os-Rios

Enjoy a panoramic city tour of historic, UNESCO-designated Guimarães, Portugal’s first capital and the home of its first king, Don Afonso Henriques.

Day 6 Entre-os-Rios (Amarante) – Regua

Take an excursion to Quinta Aveleda, famous for its gardens and its delectable Vinho Verde, which you are welcome to sample. Later, stroll through Amarante and discover the unique heritage bequeathed by the town’s patron saint, ranging from a beautiful Dominican monastery to a playful pastry.

Day 7 Regua (Lamego) – Pinhão

Learn more about the river and local winemaking traditions during your time at the Douro Museum, then take a stroll through the picturesque town of Lamego. Indulge in a tasting of sparkling wine before touring Mateus Palace and its lovely gardens. Tonight, you’ll have dinner high above the river at Quinta da Avessada.

Day 8 Pinhão – Pocinho

Travel from Pinhão up the steep streets to Quinta do Seixo, a prestigious and state-of-the-art Port wine estate. You’ll have an opportunity to sample some of their famous Sandeman Port and admire splendid views from the estate’s tasting room.

Day 9 Barca d’Alva (Castelo Rodrigo), Vega de Terrón

Take a guided tour of the walled village of Castelo Rodrigo, a site that dates back to the 12th century. In the evening, enjoy a Gala Dinner on board your ship.

Day 10 Vega de Terrón (Salamanca) – Madrid

Disembark the ship in Vega de Terrón on the Spanish border, from where you’ll travel to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as ‘The Golden City’ for the distinctive patina of its centuries-old sandstone buildings. Later in the day, you’ll transfer to Madrid by coach and your hotel for three nights.

Day 11 Madrid

Your panoramic tour of this cosmopolitan metropolis will show you some of Madrid’s top sights, followed by an excursion to the massive Prado Museum and its acclaimed collection of European art. This evening you’re in for a rare treat – a spectacular dinner and flamenco show at one of the finest venues in the city.

Day 12 Madrid (Toledo)

Known as the ‘City of Three Cultures’, Toledo has been heavily influenced by Judaism, Christianity and Islam, all of which have peacefully co-existed here for centuries. You’ll have an opportunity today to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and its wonderfully diverse cultural heritage.

Day 13 Madrid – London

VIP InboundTransfer to Madrid Airport for a British Airways or another leading airline flight to London Heathrow or Gatwick. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.

There’s one main dining venue, The Restaurant, on the Main Deck, where panoramic windows showcase the opinions of the pas scenery. Friendly and efficient staff oversee a breakfast buffet with an egg station, buffet lunches and sit-down dinners with waiter service. Open seating applies at all banquets, with tables for two to ten people. Walk through the restaurant toward the front of the ship, and you’ll find the intimate alfresco dining area, which has heating suns for cooler evenings and transparent plastic curtains to protect from breezes and insects. You do have to reserve tables there in advance for dinner( not for lunch ), and its popularity grows during the course of the trip as passengers realise how idyllic it is.
