Danube Discovery and Prague

Day 1 London – Vienna

VIP Outbound3 Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport for a British Airways or another leading airline flight to Vienna. Meet your Uniworld representative on arrival and transfer to the port to embark the stylish River Ambassador (5T).

Day 2 Vienna

See the city of imperial architectural marvels on a tour featuring the stately Ringstrasse lined by impressive buildings such as St Stephen’s Cathedral. Or, partake in the ‘City of Arts’ tour featuring a Gustav Klimt exhibit at the Belvedere. Please note: The Vienna State Opera House is occasionally closed to visitors for rehearsals or special events without advance notice. If we cannot visit the opera house, we will visit an alternative venue instead.

Day 3 Cruising the Wachau Valley – Weissenkirchen (Weissenkirchen or Melk)

Cruise through the Wachau Valley to Weissenkirchen. Join a tasting of apricot-infused delicacies and local wine and then hike through the storied vineyards and orchards. Alternatively, you may wish to experience Melk’s 900-year-old abbey, home to the extraordinary library that inspired the novel The Name of the Rose. A Captain’s Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner completes your day.

Day 4 Engelhartszell – Passau

You have three ways to experience Passau – strolling with a guide through its medieval lanes lined with Baroque buildings; taking a panoramic tour followed by a shorter walk through the heart of the charming city; or going active by cycling first along the Danube’s riverside bike path and ending in Passau’s Old Town.

Day 5 Deggendorf (Theresienthal) – cruising the Danube River – Straubing

Deggendorf – gateway to the magical Bavarian Forest – awaits via a traditional horse-drawn cart. En route to a Theresienthal glass manufactory, enjoy freshly baked bread and schnapps. Or, cycle along the Danube to Straubing, where you will meet up with your fellow travellers and have a choice between participating in a lively exploration of local brewing traditions or experiencing daily life in this enchanting town.

Day 6 Regensburg

Discover Regensburg, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns, whether walking through the cobbled lanes of the UNESCO-designated Old Town or exploring Germany’s oldest Jewish community. Should you wish to do something completely different, tour the state-of-the-art BMW factory. Please note: If the tour lands on a day when the BMW factory is closed, we will visit the Audi factory instead. The Audi production line is closed on weekends, so if your visit is scheduled for a weekend, you will see the Audi museum instead.

Day 7 Cruising the Main-Danube Canal – Nuremberg

Before docking in the medieval walled city of Nuremberg, your ship will traverse the most impressive section of the Main-Danube Canal. Partake in a tour of Nuremberg, enjoying Old Nuremberg. Or, join a guided tour of significant WWII sites, including Courtroom 600, the venue for the historic Nuremberg trials. After a day of historical exploration, spend your last night on the ship with a Captain’s Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner. Please note: Courtroom 600 is an active court. Visitors will only be permitted to see the courtroom during trial breaks.

Day 8 Nuremberg – Prague

Disembark River Ambassador and transfer to your Prague hotel for a two-night stay.

Day 9 Prague

Prague has been a centre of arts, commerce and politics for a thousand years. You have the choice to enjoy a panoramic tour of the beautiful ‘City of Spires’, including the Prague Castle district. Or you can explore Jewish Prague on foot, visiting the old Jewish quarter, which features Europe’s oldest Jewish cemetery, the Old New Synagogue and the Pinkas Synagogue, now a memorial to Holocaust victims. Please note: The synagogues and Jewish cemetery are closed on Saturdays. If the tour lands on a Saturday, we will visit sites in the Josefov district associated with writer Franz Kafka.

Day 10 Prague – London

VIP Inbound Transfer to Prague Airport for a British Airways or another leading airline flight to London Heathrow or Gatwick. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.

Food and Dinning on Ship

Enjoy delicious cuisine prepared by our resident chefs, served in an elegant, relaxed dining room, while sailing through some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. A delicious selection of hot and cold dishes are available throughout the cruise and highlights include the Captain’s splendid farewell Gala Dinner serving up a fantastic six-course feast.

  • Breakfast on board consists of a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, and there is also a cooking station offering fresh egg dishes cooked to your liking.
  • A four-course lunch is served every day in the restaurant, consisting of a light salad, soup of the day, a choice of three main courses and a selection of desserts. If nothing on the main menu tempts you, there’s also the chef’s dish of the day, prepared by the chef depending on where you are in the world. Alternatively, a buffet will also be available, offering a selection of sandwiches and pasta dishes for a lighter lunch. If you’re off on an excursion, the chef would be more than happy to make you a packed lunch to take with you so that you can still enjoy lunch on shore.
  • Dinner on board provides another tasty menu, with a four-course meal consisting of an appetizer, soup, choice of three main courses and final course offering a choice of desserts including a selection of international cheeses.
